Candy Candy musics, divinely composed by Takeo Watanabe (Rémi, Hello! Sandybell, Heidi...) participated greatly to the success of the anime. Each character indeed had his own musical theme, each situation brought back to a song in particular, which made the story even more real and moving. While listening to these musics, you will not only discover them again, but you'll also realize how much you knew them yet and how much they had remained in your mind. You'll certainly be overwhelmed by a flood of emotions, by memories of your childhood, by very strong feelings that you thought forgotten and that still are there, intact, beating to the rythm of the little child's heart you were when you watched Candy Candy, sitting in front of your tv while eating your afternoon snack, your school bag close to you... ^__^

Watanabe's biography |
Takeo Watanabe (April 16, 1933 -
June 2, 1989) is the son of the famous composer, more popular for his
classical and movies musics. Takeo got his diploma in
Econmics at the Univerity of
Musashino, then he went to Paris to learn classical music. He composed
many musics for cartoons such as Georgie. Takeo Watanabe used to use
the same musics for different cartoons. As a result, some pieces of Candy
Candy
were used for other cartoons, especially for funny moments, or those
used for Klint that were used for other animals.
Takeo Watanabe
died unfortunately in June 1989, from cancer.
For the record, afer his death, his family found tapes in which he had
saved his favourite musical scores. Candy Candy was among them...
